Health and Stuff
I didn't know this until recently. I'm kind of a health nut. I love reading about the human body, what makes it tick, and what makes it not tick so well. I've been reading in the book Nutritional Healing and looking up websites for nutrition. You won't believe want I've discovered! The old saying, 'You are what you eat', is very, very true. If you eat pork, you just may look like a pig. If you eat beef, you just may look like a cow. (okay, stop laughing now) Granted, you would have to eat TONS of the stuff to gain that kind of weight, but it's very easy to go overboard.
I'm starting to realize the connection between the Bible and our health. If I won't smoke or drink or do drugs because it displeases God and will harm my body which is His temple, then why do I eat things that have an adverse affect on my body? We are called to be temperate in all things in 1 Cor. 9.
Thus I am putting into practice a lot of the principles I'm learning. However, it's like anything else, I stumble and fall. Then I dust myself off and begin again. 'Tis the only way you'll learn anythin', darlin'. Let me say, just because I'm doing it, does not mean I will force that on anyone else. To each his own. Each one will reap the harvest of what he has sown in his body. So because I'm not doing that, don't look down your royal noses at me and call me "weird". I happen to strongly desire to serve my Lord and I want to do it in the best, possible health. Stuffing myself with sugar, refined snack foods, caffeine, and other foods, makes me sluggish, unable to think straight, and unable to function at top quality. Does that please God? hummm....let me think....uh....NO!
So, check it out for yourself....do some reading...join my in my search and study for good health....after all, in 3 John, John's desire was for Gaius, to "prosper and be in health."
